My thesis project at NYU, and at heart, my attempt to figure out how David Lynch does what he does. Moral of the story: it's great to learn from the masters, but find your own voice, kid. I learned that if you're going to put everything you have into a project as all-consuming as even a short film, you might as well navigate by your own stars. I quite like what the actors gave to the project given what I asked them to do, though. So much rides on just finding the right people to tell the story and just work with day to day.
